In a unexpected partnership that breaks conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Uncovered

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous changes echo through the darkness." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden group.

The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Metamorphoses

The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Additional Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an unique katana together with multiple items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Update

This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
