American-Palestinian Youth Released After Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American teenager after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, claims he consistently denied.

United States authorities expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

The state department said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.

{"American leadership has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," it added.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to the state department and the administration, demanding more be done to release him.

The father, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business from Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.

There were no visits or communicated with his son since February, and only heard what had happened to him through judicial records.

He stayed absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
