Barça Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
