British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
